Legend Multi-brand Design System

Overview

Legend has a large portfolio of products with overlapping purposes and value propositions. Treating each product in isolation was burning time and resources. Designers were creating separate systems and templates for every brand, engineers were rebuilding the same components repeatedly, and launching a new product was painfully slow. I led a team of two Senior Product Designers to research, define, and design a multi-brand design system that unified workflows across the portfolio. I also worked worked closely with engineers to bring it to life.

Outcome

The Design System now supports 37 brands, it has increased design velocity by around 25%, and reduced ongoing maintenance and management effort by around 30%.
